DESCRIPTION
In honor of my beloved father, Wilson Jack, Jr. administered by Core Refined, this scholarship is for African-American male seniors in high school who plan on pursuing an education at a technical school, college or university. Applicants must possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
The Wilson Jack, Jr. Memorial Scholarship was established in 2022 to help meet the educational needs of African-American males in Texas. Wilson Jack, Jr. valued education and community service. As a male mentor and community advocate, Wilson Jack, Jr. was passionate about instilling the value of faith, humility and education in African-American males to maintain integrity through whatever profession they ventured into. One of his favorite scriptures is, “Fight the good fight of faith…” (1 Timothy 6:12), which means despite circumstances, good or bad, continue to persevere by doing what’s right and by maintaining faith that God will strengthen you. He believes in you. It’s up to you to believe in yourself, God and work hard to achieve your goals.
